  • The zinc theory. Zinc is needed for testosterone synthesis — true — but a realistic serving of moringa delivers about 0.03–0.15 mg against an 11 mg daily requirement (USDA FoodData Central). Negligible. Do not buy that chain.

This is not a comment on Indian farming; it is a comment on raw-powder quality control. Heat-treated, food-grade, licensed products are a different proposition.

Regulation reality. In India, moringa powders and capsules are regulated as foods (health supplements and nutraceuticals), not drugs — disease-cure claims are prohibited and health claims need scientific substantiation under the FSSAI 2016 regulations (FSSAI Health Supplements Regulations). In the US, supplements get no premarket approval (WebMD Moringa monograph). Rule of thumb: look for an FSSAI licence number, prefer heat-treated food-grade powder, and distrust any jar promising hormone or sexual benefits.
